Terms of use

These terms apply to Past Paper Match at pastpapermatch.com (“the service”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

1. What the service does

You upload pages of your study material (photos or PDF). The service writes a numbered summary of the topics on those pages and finds Edexcel International GCSE past-paper questions that match them, with links to the question paper, mark scheme and examiner report. Results are produced automatically.

2. Your account

• You need an account with a working email address. Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
• An account is for one person. Do not share it or sell access to it.
• You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once at support@pastpapermatch.com if you think someone else is using it.
• Users under 18 may use the service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf. Payments for a user under 18 must be made by, or with the permission of, the parent or guardian.

3. Free trial

A new account gets a free trial of 7 days with 1 search and 10 textbook pages. When the trial ends, a paid plan is needed to search again or add new material. What you made during the trial stays readable.

4. Plans, prices and payment

• The plans, their prices and their monthly limits (searches and textbook pages) are shown on the Subscription page.
• Payment is made by card (Visa or Mastercard) on the secure page of our payment provider. We never receive or store your card details.
• Plans are monthly: each payment buys one month. The plan starts as soon as the payment is confirmed. Paying again for the plan you already have, before it ends, adds the new month to its end (unless its limits are used up; see below).
• There is no automatic renewal. Nothing is charged again unless you pay again yourself. When the month ends without a new payment, the plan expires.
• Limits reset every month. Searches and pages you do not use in a month do not carry over. A photo counts as one page, a PDF as its number of pages, and Regenerate summary counts the pages again.
• When either the searches or the textbook pages of your plan (or of the free trial) run out, the plan pauses: no new searches and no new materials until you renew. Your materials and past results stay open to read. Renewing a used-up plan starts a new month at once, with fresh limits; the days left of the previous month are not added.
• We may change prices and plans. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.

5. Refunds

Payments are not refundable, with one exception: if none of the searches you made during the paid period returned any result because of a fault in the service, you can ask for a full refund of that payment. Write to support@pastpapermatch.com within 14 days of the payment, from the email of your account, with the payment reference. We check the request against the search history of your account and, if it is confirmed, refund the payment to the card used. The time the refund takes to reach your card depends on your bank.

A search that returns few questions, or questions you consider a poor match, is not a fault of the service. Deleting your account does not give a refund.

6. Results are a study aid

Topic summaries and matched questions are produced automatically and can be incomplete or wrong: a matching question may be missed, or a question may be matched to a topic it does not really test. Always check questions and answers against the official mark scheme, and use your teachers' guidance. The service does not guarantee any exam result and is provided “as is”.

7. Past papers and other content

• Past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports are the copyright of Pearson Education Ltd. They are provided for your personal study only; do not republish or sell them.
• Only upload material you are allowed to use for your own study, such as pages of your own textbook. Your uploads stay yours. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service to you; they are never shown to other users.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• share your account, or resell or redistribute results or files from the service;
• upload content that is illegal, harmful, or that you have no right to use;
• try to get around the plan limits, for example with several accounts;
• copy the service with automated tools, or try to break into, overload or disrupt it.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If the breach is serious, this can happen without notice and without a refund.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and correct, but it can be interrupted for maintenance or by faults. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop the service altogether, we will tell users by email and refund the unused part of any paid period.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost marks or lost time, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law does not allow to be removed.

11. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Subscription page. Your materials, summaries and search history are then deleted, as described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
